Tooth-Colored (White) Fillings

With today’s advanced materials and modern techniques, tooth-colored fillings have become the standard in dentistry today.

Silver fillings are becoming obsolete in today’s progressive dental offices because they have several inherent negative qualities about them. Silver almost always creates sensitive teeth, it expands over time causing fractures, and it weakens the tooth considerably. Silver fillings are also widely considered ugly and unattractive in today’s cosmetic conscious society.

Conversely, tooth-colored fillings (made of tooth colored resins) are “bonded” to the tooth, thereby strengthening the tooth and virtually eliminating sensitivity. Tooth-colored fillings are long-lasting and durable, and they also conserve more natural tooth structure than silver fillings.
